From Junction 39 on the M6 - take the Shap road and you'll find us directly opposite the big chimneys (on your right) before you enter the village.
From the A6 North (Penrith) - go straight through Shap village - straight out the other side and the chimneys will then be on your left.
From the A6 South (Kendal) - follow junction 39 directions.
Parking is available at the North end of the Garage forecourt - along the wall is best.
We are located in the small building in the middle of the forecourt.
We are not open to the public all the time so to avoid disappointment, especially if you are planning on making a special journey, please ring first.
There are plenty of other things to do and places to see in and around Shap and the immediate surrounding area:
You can get lunch, a bite to eat and a hot drink at either Walker's Coffee Shop or Shap Chippy, Andersons News sells freshly made sandwiches plus there is a Coop. Or if you prefer you can dine at any of the Public Houses/Hotels/Restaurants in and around Shap.
Visit Wet Sleddale Reservoir or Haweswater (Mardale Village) Reservoir (all dogs on leads please).
You can visit the chocolate factory in Orton
If the weather allows you can swim in the heated open air pool in Shap
You can visit the ruins of Shap Abbey
Have a jersey ice cream and hot drink at Abbot Lodge ice creams just off the A6 (North)
There is also a park and play area for the younger children (accessed from the swimming pool or the car park at the recycling centre by the school)
Don't forget - we're in the perfect place for visiting anywhere within the Lake District.
